Music
I was told that the music in Guild wars is not that good. Are there any mod which add music to the game

My CD player works really well...it plays Weezer, Green Day and The Offspring alot. You cant have it, but Im sure you already have one alot like it. You may think its a coffee cup holder, but it will play CD's too.

Not sure if it's just my system, but I can't get the music volume up high enough to hear it over...pretty much any noise. So I really can't tell you how the music is.

They don't have great music so you're not distracted from reading the Terms of Agreement wherein you'd find downloading mods is illegal.

I was thinking of a mod created by the developer arena not one which is illegal. |

Anyways, the music isn't bad, to me it seems like typical game music. However, just playing music by yourself works fine, as suggested. |

The music is great in this game... whoever told you otherwise is wrong.

It's music...like all music people have very different tastes. Its (usually) slow, peaceful music, kind of 'hey, lets go exploring' music. If you like it, great, if you dont, that doesnt mean it sucks. Its just not your type of art. |

I would appreciate more of it. I remember getting chills in the Shiverpeaks (Irony?) when that violin solo kicked in. I could sit there and listen to it for hours. I just wish there was more of these excellent soundtracks throughout the entire game.

The music is fine....except for the fact that it only plays about 2% of the time.

the music is not my taste, but my criticism of the music runs deeper than that. There is little to no connection between the music and your environment. It's been over a decade since devs have figured out how to raise the intensity of the music during serious fighting and how to mellow it during moments of peace... and the sounds of the jungle should be tribal, the sounds of the desert should be... desertish, with high pitched vocals and Indian instruments and scales. Only the Ring of Fire has suitable music for the environment, and there it's only very subtle occasionally surfacing sounds that drag and are off key (hence adding to the mood). Of all the places in the game that received it, only Lion's Arch and Ascalon are even remotely fitting of the lOTR music laid over top of it.
Music aside however, I do love this game (er... voice acting aside too... terrible). |
